Rector Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç's Message on 15th July, Day of Democracy and National Unity
He said that”On 15th July, 2016 and at that night heroic epic was written. The state is above all things. National unity and solidarity is above the all things. That night, our nation, women, men, young, old body showed their devotion to democracy and freedom to the whole world without caring tanks, bombs, bullets.
The will put forward by our nation and our state in the spells of democracy after July 15th should be understood and evaluated as a historical challenge against the enemies and those who do not belong to this country. The necessity of combating the FETÖ structuring with the same concern should be kept alive in the memories as a remarkable detail.
Every citizen has a great responsibility to combat with these and other structures that find a living space by abusing the goodwill of the people of this geography. Our duty as educational institutions is to continue to train more powerful young generations in the light of reason, science, morality and conscience. With these feelings and thoughts, on the third anniversary of the Day of Democracy and National Unity. I commemorate our martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for our democracy, homeland, independence, national unity and integrity. I thank to our veterans.”
