Assoc. Prof. Dr Filiz Kuralay were given 2017 TÜBİTAK Incentive Award

Incentive, Science, Service and Special Awards granted every year with TÜBİTAK award ceremony which takes place in the charge of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with the participation of our rector Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Filiz Kuralay who is an academician at Ordu University Faculty of Science and Letters won 2017 TÜBİTAK Incentive Award in the field of Chemistry.

The opening speech of the ceremony organized at Presidential Palace delivered by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü, The president of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. A. Arif Ergin. The award of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Filiz Kuralay was presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

As a result of evaluation studies related to TÜBİTAK Incentive, Science, Service and Special awards, 4 Science Award and 11 Incentive Award were given by TÜBİTAK Science Committee. Academician Assoc. Prof. Dr Filiz Kuralay at the Faculty of Science and Letters deserved TÜBİTAK Incentive Award thanks to her international high-quality studies on the design of fast, sensitive and economical electrochemical biosensors aimed at to define various analytes by using polymer, nanomaterial and noncomposites modified electrodes, the preparation of different biofuel cells to provide cheap and clean energy, and the synthesis of nano/micromotor used as a sensor in the controlled drug release and analyte detection.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç stated that: “TÜBİTAK supports the academic studies of scientists abroad and in the country and conduct serious studies in order to increase the competitive capacity by launching a fund the projects of universities, public institutions and industries. We are highly honoured with 2017 Incentive Award given to Assoc. Prof. Dr Filiz Kuralay by  TÜBİTAK, as an institution adopting innovative, sharing and leading vision, serves to improve life standards of our society and to the sustainability of our country in the field of science and technology. In this context, this success, which leads to the improvement of our university a step forward, provide an incentive for young researchers to improve their skills. We appreciate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Filiz Kuralay due to her success and wish her success in her new studies contributing to science.”
