Ordu University nominated for "University without Barriers 2018"

Our University has been awarded the "Orange Flag" in the "Accessibility to the Venue" category at the Unhindered Universities Award Ceremony organized by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) for arrangements that were made regarding the accessibility of the disability related to the disabled at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Faculties.

Within the boundaries of the university campus, "Unhindered University Flags" and "Unhindered Program Commendations" by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) for the determination of the works carried out in order to ensure the full, effective and equal participation of the disabled individuals have been given to the universities. Uninhibited University Flags were given under three categories: Accessibility in Place (Orange Flag), Accessibility in Education (Green Barak) and Accessibility to Socio-Cultural Activities (Blue Flag). In this context, our University, which continues to work to reduce the difficulties encountered by students with disabilities throughout their university life, has been nominated for the "Unhindered University 2018" award for regulations on disability access to the Faculties of Music and Performing Arts.

As the management of the University of Ordu, we, through all of our units, are aware of the diversity of our students, and are aware of the importance of building a culturally sensitive and accessible campus, providing an environment of supportive and well-equipped resources for students with disabilities. We are committed to lifting the constraints in front of their academic achievements and training and helping them develop their independence as individuals. We are designing all the physical structures in our university so that our students with disabilities will not have any problems during their education life. Within this scope, we are pleased that our Music and Performing Arts Faculty located within the Cumhuriyet Campus is eligible to become an orange flag candidate in the category of "Accessible University Awards 2018" by Higher Education Council. I present my gratitude to HEC President and HEC members who always encourage us with their understanding of 'New HEC’ which puts the continuous improvement approach at the center.”
