130 students studying at the University of Ordu have successfully completed the mobility of European Voluntary Service which aims at maintaining qualified training as well as social and cultural skills to the students.

The University of Ordu accrediated by the Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service in 2016 to support the students to take part in a variety of voluntary services in European countries has been awarded by 8 projects. In this scope, 130 students from the faculties and VET schools have joined EVS mobilities lasting 33 days to get to know different cultures and improve social relations and foreign language and also to minimize mutual prejudices among the young people in Finland, Malta, Portugal, Italy, Romania and Greece.

After completing the mobilities, the participants, under the care of the Rector of the University of Ordu, expressed that EVS has conributed a lot about their personal development, the feeling of self-confidence  and foreign language skills as well as getting to know European culture and citizenship. Through the projects being conducted in the framework of Erasmus+, 45 more students will have joined the mobilities by the end of the year, 2018.

Regarding with the matter, The Rector Prof Dr Tarık Yarılgaç said ‘’ European Voluntary Service provides the university students a variety of facilities such as personal improvement, foreign language practice, getting to know different cultures and social skills without considering their native identifications. In addition, the project makes contribution the employability of the students after completing their university education using their experiences gained during the mobility. In this respect EVS is not only a project but also a life experience for the youth. In this scope we have constantly been in progress of developing bilateral agreements wit a lot of universities and research centres since we came to administration. The University of Ordu is proceeding international relations in varied areas and we will continue to maintain the activities in the framework of transnational relations with universities across the world.’’
