The Panel of Being a Woman in a Science World at ODU

In the context of the International Women's Day on March 8th, a panel and a music concert were held on “Being a Woman in the Science World“.

The Rector of the University was invited to the program and the program was held in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Concert Hall. Rector Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç, Vice Rector Dr. Prof. Dr. Tevfik Noyan, Dean of the Faculty of Education Dr. Sadık Kılıç, academic and administrative staff, students and guests attended.

Director of the Center of Gender Practice and Research Dr. Nalan Arabacı opened the speech of the program. Lecturer. She continued her speech by mentioning the importance of 8 March International Women's Day. Dr.Bahar Sarıboğa and Assoc.Prof. Dr. Sercan Özkeleş from the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts  performed a music concert.

Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Nülüfer Erbil, Head of the Department of General Surgery from Faculty of Medicine Assoc. Dr. Sevil Işık and Ünye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Assoc. Dr. Sebiha Kablay took part in the panel and gave their speech. They talked about prominent women scientists in the world and scientific studies and discoveries in Turkey. Afterwards, the panelists talked about the process of taking part in the world of science and shared their experiences in their professional lives by talking about the advantages or disadvantages of being a woman in the education process and in their professional lives.

At the end of the program, Rector of our University. Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç and Vice Rector. Prof. Dr. Tevfik Noyan presented papers to the panelists and lecturers who performed music.
