Within the context of 15 July “Democracy Victory and Commemoration of Martyrs Programme”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Erden gave a lecture titled” “15 July The Treacherous Coup Attempt”.

Rector Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Fikri Balta, Prof. Dr. Tevfik Noyan, Dean of Ünye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Sadık Kılıç, Dean of Music and Performing Arts Prof. Sabri Yener, academics, administrative staff and invitees attend the conference held in the conference hall of Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

Stating that July 15, 2016 is the greatest and most dangerous history of betrayal for the Turkish nation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Erden: “The members of the terrorist organization of FETÖ, who had been infiltrated into the Turkish army, attempted a treacherous coup attempt to overthrow the legitimate government. At the end of this attack against the national will, 248 citizens were martyred and 2 thousand 193 citizens were injured and some of them are heavy.”

Erden stated that an analysis should be made on how the formation of the FETO is strengthened and also said that this formation is not possible to come to this point without a support. Speaking of the historical process of the construction, Erden mentioned that people were exploited by religion. Erden said  "These people have absolutely nothing to do with Islam. So we have to look back at our history. They are the greatest enemy of Islam, the greatest enemy of the Turks, the greatest enemy of the state. This organization, which has strengthened in this way, has infiltrated the army for 50 years. I guess so, this is a person who has been prepared for this job by great powers since childhood. Also, America has trained them for this job. But a 50-year study has been eliminated in 4 hours. I curse these people in the second year of 15th July, and we commemorate our martyrs with mercy and I hope that our voices will be ready for their health as soon as possible. "
