Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan's Message on "July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day"
Five years ago today, our country faced a treacherous coup attempt, which was eliminated in a short time with the will of our nation and the courage and foresight of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Our nation showed the fact that no evil center can touch its independence on the night of July 15 with the same determination and determination as it did in Manzikert, Çanakkale and the War of Independence.
The democracy watch that took place on the night of July 15 and afterwards is a historical challenge to those who want to plunge our country into darkness. The Republic of Turkey will continue to exist as a strong, dynamic country that is advancing on the path of science and has a voice in the world. I fully believe that we will overcome the obstacles that come our way on this path with a sense of national unity and solidarity. As higher education institutions, one of our most important duties is to continue to raise stronger young generations who are loyal to their homeland, flag, national and spiritual values in the light of reason, science, morality and conscience.
With these feelings and thoughts, on the fifth anniversary of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, we commemorate our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our democracy, homeland, independence, national unity and integrity with mercy and gratitude and thank our veterans.
