The activity of Priority for Life, Priority for Pedestrians was organized in 81 provinces in order to spread pedestrian priority awareness in traffic.
The Rector of our university Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Fikri Balta, Prof. Dr. Tevfik Noyan, academic and administrative staff and students participated in the activity.

The activity of Priority for Life, Priority for Pedestrians was organized in 81 provinces at the same time by Ministry of Interior in order to spread pedestrian priority awareness in traffic. Our university also took part in the awareness program for the purpose of creating awareness of pedestrian priority in traffic and spreading the use of pedestrian crossings. Our university students and many participants were informed about the subject in the program organized at Sağra Crossroads near the university.

Rector of our university Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç said that “ According to the statistics, many traffic accidents occur in our country which cause the death of more than 7 thousand people and injured 300 thousand citizens. In addition to the intensive security measures taken in order to find solutions to the pedestrian accidents, the Ministry of Interior has launched a new campaign with the slogan of Priority for Life, Priority for Pedestrians in addition to many campaigns organized to minimize traffic accidents and create awareness. As Ordu University, we became a part of this important campaign to promote pedestrian crossings for pedestrians, creating awareness of pedestrian priority for drivers. I would like to thank our Ministry of Interior, the academic and administrative staff of our university for their sensitivity to this event and to ensure that this campaign will be a beneficial start for our country”.
