The Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Hilmi Güler, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, Ordu Provincial Mufti Mürsel Öztürk, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tahsin Tonkaz, Faculty Deans, General Secretary Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sami Güler, representatives of public institutions and organizations, academic and administrative staff, students and guests participated in the program held in the Morphology Building Conference Hall.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan who made the opening speech of the program said, “Our university will demonstrate its efforts at the point of raising generations that apply knowledge to their lives. We will strive to raise our youth with an understanding that is dependent on their national and spiritual values. Our task is to raise individuals who will apply this knowledge for the development of our province and country by raising generations producing objective, scientific information. We will make every effort to ensure that our youth become qualified individuals who are equipped in their fields, and on the other hand, they are generations dependent on their national and spiritual values. Since they did not break us, I present my thanks to Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş. ”

Head of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş emphasized the importance of science in his conference and said, “I understood how important the information was when I started primary school. The basis of the information that the prophet Ali expressed as "I will be the slave of a teacher who teaches me a letter" starts with those letters. Science is one of the most important legs of our civilization, even the first one. The most important element of our civilization is knowledge, because the verse mentioned came as 'ikra'. We are members of a book that talks about reading, writing and learning in these first verses. In the centuries when our book and pen have not fallen, we have illuminated the earth. This is between the 8th and 16th centuries. ”

Stating that there should be an elective course pool system for university students to take the courses of different faculties as electives, Professor stated that there will be more productive individuals. Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş said, “There must be an elective pool. Courses from each faculty should be included in that elective pool. A student at the Faculty of Theology can be from sociology, psychology, literature, mathematics, engineering. One of our brothers in the medical school may not be able to learn the Qur'an until it comes to the medical school. Choose the Quran lesson and learn it. This is an opportunity. You should choose fiqh lesson because our Muslim doctors need Islamic fiqh. Our students in law school should choose Islamic law. Our students studying theology should also choose a course from law school. If they do academic work in the future, the theology student will need those principles in the faculty of law. Because we live in a society and this society has facts. We need to know those facts. "If the interdisciplinary method comes to this point in universities in this way, then it will be a useful method."

After the conference, the Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, Mehmet Hilmi Güler and Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan gave flowers and paintings to Ali Erbaş. Afterwards, Head of Religious Affairs Erbaş made examinations at our University Ergin Karlıbel Mosque.
