Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan was the live broadcast guest of the program "A Matter of Preference" broadcast on Radio Başakşehir. 
      Rector Akdoğan answered questions about many subjects such as education, accommodation, transportation and social facilities of Ordu University as the preference period approached.
        Rector Akdoğan who stated that Ordu University has raised itself to the next level by using its facilities in the most effective way and it is an innovative institution that always acts in the light of science, contributes to the society, and is a pioneering and exemplary institution in its environment, explained,  “Located in a location where blue and green meet, Ordu University successfully continues its educational activities with 12 Faculties, 3 Institutes, 2 Schools and 10 Vocational Schools. Our university, which had 4 thousand students in total in 2006 when it was founded, has now graduated nearly 5 thousand students every year with the number of students reaching 20 thousand. Continuing its development with its academic and administrative units, increasing number of students and physical growth in a short period of 14 years, our University makes significant contributions to both the world of science, humanity and its environment with this development.”
         Rector Akdoğan continued, “According to Turkey University Satisfaction Survey Report 2019, our university was ranked 38th among 123 public universities in student satisfaction and our city ranked 17th in the Student Friendly University Cities Report. These data show us that our university has a satisfied student profile in both the university and the city. In addition, Ordu-Giresun Airport, which is the only airport in Europe opening to the sea and which has extremely easy transportation facilities, is 10 minutes from the Cumhuriyet Campus of our University and 15 minutes from the central bus station. Thus, transportation to our University by road and air is quite easy.”

         Rector Akdoğan, underlining that the necessary studies are carried out at Ordu University not only on the academic development of students, but also for social, cultural and sports activities, informed, “Many social, cultural, scientific and sports activities are held at our university. By sharing a social and dynamic understanding of education and training with both our students and staff through such activities, we expand the perspective limited to the classroom only. With this point of view, we will continue our activities with the aim of raising individuals who think universally. In addition, Ordu University, which stands out with its building quality in international standards, original architecture and landscaping, offers its students a privileged education and living environment. The student dormitories in the campus, the modern living and working environment where all kinds of comfort are provided, the central canteens and cafeterias provide an indispensable opportunity for our students to relax and create a social environment.”
         Rector Akdoğan, who provided information about both the scientific and informatics infrastructure of our university, added, “The education process, which continued with distance education in the spring term due to the pandemic, has been successfully completed. Our university, which works intensively to continue its educational activities in places with all kinds of facilities required by modern education, offers its students the opportunity to work in more equipped areas with its scientific infrastructure. In this context, while our university conducts scientific researches and projects at regional, national and international level with its 152 laboratories, the necessary research environment is provided to students with 57.269 printed and 200 thousand electronic books in our library.Besides, I would like to state that we have a distance education infrastructure for our students who will prefer our university and that this system works without any problems. In order to minimize the effects of the pandemic process we are experiencing on the education life of our students, we have made every effort and effort as higher education institutions and we continue to do so. As Ordu University, we completed the spring term education process smoothly through distance education and digital education facilities by making preparations for the necessary infrastructure, equipment and information systems in order to ensure that education processes can be carried out as smoothly as possible without interruption and our students do not experience victimization. 
          Rector Akdoğan stated, “As Ordu University, we bear the responsibility of preparing our young people, who are the future of our country, as individuals who are equipped with qualified, theoretical and practical knowledge, enlightened in the light of science, have high self-confidence, awareness and national consciousness.
