Ordu University is 15 Years Old

Ordu University, which started its educational activities on March 17, 2006, has more than 1,500 academic and administrative staff in 3 institutes, 12 faculties, 2 colleges and 10 vocational schools. Today, it is celebrating its 15th anniversary with nearly 20 thousand students in graduate, undergraduate and associate degree programs.
Occupancy Rate Reaching 99% and Increasing Student Satisfaction With Each Semester
Ordu University, which continues to increase the number of students who will have a voice in national and international platforms every year with its academic and physical development, has associate and undergraduate programs that will contribute to the development of the country. According to the results of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) in 2020, the quota occupancy rate reached 99 in the associate and undergraduate programs opened to train scientists and business people who will have a say in national and international platforms.
Besides, according to the results of the 2020 Turkey University Satisfaction Survey (Tuma), Ordu University ranked 29th among 125 state universities in the General Satisfaction Ranking of State Universities of undergraduate students.
Qualified Academic Staff and Increasing Success Graph Every Semester in Academic Development
Ordu University, which has distinguished academic staff with superior and high quality academic qualifications, to whom students can reach at any time and get answers to their questions, acting with the mission of training qualified manpower, provides its students with private classrooms and lecture halls, laboratories and equipment for practical education. It contributes to the training of students as free and questioning individuals in close interaction with the faculty members and to the development of students as healthy individuals equipped with superior personal and professional knowledge, self-confident and sense of responsibility.
Ordu University, which has academic staff serving its region and country by signing many researches and projects in national and international fields, continues its qualified scientific development according to the results of the research conducted by national and international evaluation organizations.
In this context, according to the results of URAP 2020-2021, Ordu University took part in the 25th in the 95 universities founded after 2000, 70th among 110 state universities and 83rd among 166 universities in Turkey.
Number of Laboratories Reaching 152 and Increase in Scientific Projects
Our university continues its research activities by establishing new laboratories in the necessary fields in line with the needs of academic units and increasing the equipment of the existing laboratories, increasing the number of laboratories from 13 in the year it was founded to 152, and continues its scientific studies in order to continue its educational activities in places with all kinds of facilities required by modern education.
In addition, more than 2 thousand research, thesis, infrastructure, scientific activity projects have been carried out since 2012, when the Scientific Research Projects unit was established, which aims to contribute to the academic success of the university by providing financial support to academicians especially for scientific research and thesis projects.
Increasing Service Quality in the Field of Health
Ordu University hospitals, which are an important address of Ordu and the Black Sea Region in the field of health, continue to meet the needs of patients with the health services they offer.In this context, in order to solve the health problems of the people of Ordu, a 208 acres of land belonging to our university was allocated in order to build the hospital needed by the city. A hospital with a total closed area of 300 thousand square meters will be built on the hospital land, which has been started to be built by the Ministry of Health, with a service building of 592 single, total of 900 beds and 278 thousand 370 square meters, and an additional service building of 16 thousand square meters. In addition, with the allocation of an additional area of 42 acres, a morphology building with a closed area of 22 thousand 300 square meters will be built next to the city hospital, where classrooms, laboratories and study rooms for Faculty of Medicine academic staff and students will be located. 
In the Day Clinic and the Disabled Unit, which has been put into service in the Faculty of Dentistry, which meets an important health need of the region with its numerous treatments and surgical procedures,the dental treatments of disabled individuals coming from Ordu and neighboring provinces, jaw surgeries that require general anesthesia and the treatment of patients with fear of dental treatment are carried out. In the Dental Tomography Unit, the imaging procedures of the head and neck region of the patients are diagnosed in detail and the treatment plans of the patients are made in line with this diagnosis.
In addition, diagnosis, medication, dressing, analysis and cardiological evaluations of all kinds of diseases can be made in the Family Health Center, which has been put into operation in the Cumhuriyet Campus and will serve the staff and students of our University in the first place.
Stating that Ordu University has come to the fore with its academic and physical development since its establishment, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan added, “Ordu University continues its academic and physical development, despite its short history of 15 years, with competent academicians and administrative staff; it continues its educational activities successfully with 3 institutes, 12 faculties, 2 colleges and 10 vocational schools. Ordu University, which started its educational campaign with 4 thousand 400 students, 118 academicians and 110 administrative staff in 2006, today is a preferred university in the national and international arena with approximately 20 thousand students, 821 academic, 350 administrative, 321 permanent workers and 10 contracted personnel. Apart from being an education and training center, our University draws a roadmap for itself with the awareness of its contribution to the region and national development, and creates new and original ideas in order to become a brand university in its region, country and the world, creating projects and collaborations for the common benefit of the city and the university. Our corporate goal is to increase the quality and diversity of our scientific studies and to prepare our youth for the future in the light of science by increasing the quality of our educational activities each day by struggling to create a society equipped with information-based systems, and to continue contributing to the development of the country in this context. Our university will continue its qualified studies based on a modern progress focused on reason, science and society in the future.
