An online panel on "Malazgirt in its 950th Anniversary" was organized by the History Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of our university.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, academic and administrative staff, students and guests attended to the program held on the YouTube Oduzem channel. The moderator of the program was the Department of History, Prof. Dr. Sadullah Gülten.

Making the opening speech of the online panel, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan stated, “Nations who do not know their past cannot make planned and programmed expansions regarding their present and future. We are the children of a nation that has a past and left its mark on history. The Malazgirt Victory is an important victory that changed the history of the world under the leadership of Sultan Alparslan and opened the doors of Anatolia to the Turkish nation. On the occasion of the anniversary of this glorious victory, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of the program, and I commemorate the Great Commander Alparslan and our martyrs with mercy and gratitude.”

In the continuation of the program, Prof. Dr. Ergin Ayan, Prof. Dr. Erkan Goksu, Prof. Dr. Haşim Şahin and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Gündoğdu took place as speakers for the topics of  “Turkish Gentlemen in the Battle of Malazgirt, Turkish Archers in the Battle of Malazgirt, Fakih and Sultan: The Relationship between Alparslan and Fakih el-Khorezmi during the Battle of Malazgirt, the Place and Importance of the Battle of Malazgirt in Turkish History.
