Rector of Our University Dr. Ali Akdoğan attended The Eastern Black Sea Project, Regional Development Administration Presidency, University Association (UNI-DOKAP) Supreme Board Meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç Chairman of the Higher Education Council.

Chairman of the Higher Education Council Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, 13 University Rectors in the Black Sea Region and DOKAP President Yusuf Mengi participated in the meeting.

President of YÖK, Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç who made the opening speech of the meeting stated that as the new YÖK, they acted fast and making quick decisions during the pandemic process as a result of the constructive attitudes of universities and acting as a team, they passed this process without any problems as Higher Education Council  with a student-centered understanding for education and training not to be interrupted.

President of YÖK, Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç expressed that nothing would be as before and universities need to keep up with the new process and  that today cannot be managed with yesterday's decisions and yesterday's understanding. He added that the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year will be determined by YÖK and the rate of courses that can be given by distance education can be between 10 and 40 percent, as determined by universities in the new term. Following the first session, ideas were exchanged between YÖK President Saraç and the Rectors of the region about the education and training processes after the pandemic period.

The second session of the meeting was carried out under the presidency of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Karaman, term president of UNI-DOKAP. Cooperating in collaboration both in education and research and development processes as 14 universities in 11 provinces in the DOKAP Region and joint use of resources conducting joint projects and research were the main issues in this session.

DOKAP Region Universities Union Strategic Board has been appointed to plan and implement the decisions taken in the Supreme Board Meeting and 
it was decided to hold the next meeting in September.
