In the 2021-2022 academic year, an orientation program was organized in order to contribute to the adaptation process of the newly enrolled students to university life and to create a sense of belonging. After the program, with the support of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, a ship tour event was held for newly arrived students.

In the program, where information about social, cultural and sportive activities, nutrition and diet services, psychological counseling services and student clubs is given by the officials of the Health, Culture and Sports Department. The Student Affairs Department provides information for passing lessons, horizontal and vertical transfer, grading system, fees, student automation system, student mobile application. In addition, the library collection, catalog scanning and lending services were explained to the students by the Library and Documentation Department officials, and detailed information about the Distance Education Center was given. During the training, general evaluations regarding the adaptation and orientation process will be made and information will be provided about the problems that the students may encounter and the solutions.

Ship Tour Event was Held with the Participation of 200 Students

Within the scope of the “Orientation Days”, a ship tour event was organized for the newly arrived students with the support of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality.

The event held on Şehit Temel Şimşir Gemisi was attended by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Hilmi Güler and Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, representatives of public institutions and organizations, 200 students from different campuses and departments.

Stating that the event is important in terms of city-university integration, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Hilmi Güler said, “Our youth both had fun and watched the beauties of our Ordu. This event is important in terms of ensuring the city-university integration, which we also desire. So we created this environment here. With the participation of our students from different parts of our country, a very nice environment was created, refreshments were made, halay and horon dances were played. In addition, we will develop Ordu and our country together with both professional and technical studies and scientific studies to be carried out with our University.” 

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan said, “We are carrying out an orientation program to contribute to the adaptation process of our new students to university life and our city. In this context, we came together with our students to get to know the beauties of Ordu and to experience the satisfaction of coming to our University in the ship tour event we organized. We want every student who comes here to be happy and to receive a quality education. In addition, Ordu University is a university that is integrated with the city and is in cooperation. We will continue to cooperate with our city with the works we will carry out from now on.
