I wish the panel will be beneficial to our province, region and country.”

Ordu Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Kemal Yılmaz mentioned, “Hazelnut cultivation is carried out in 87 percent of Ordu's agricultural land. All of our stakeholders in this sector, our university, agricultural organizations, chambers of commerce, chambers of agriculture should take important responsibilities in this sector. Until today, we have carried out important studies with both our University and our Chambers of Agriculture. In the next period, we will do whatever it takes to increase the yield and quality of hazelnuts. I would like to thank our esteemed academicians, especially our Rector, who contributed to the organization of this panel and I wish the panel to be beneficial.”

Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan stated, ”Universities are institutions that are the locomotives in the enlightenment, development and progress of the society. Academicians are also people who enlighten and guide the society with their research and development activities. Our Faculty of Agriculture is one of our strongest and well-established faculties with 20 professors and nearly 60 faculty members in total. Here we have precious friends who know the properties of the soil and work on hazelnuts. Therefore, I believe that important studies will be carried out when this knowledge and experience is shared with our stakeholders in cooperation. I believe that our society will go further when we transfer our knowledge to society. In addition, we plan to be among the specialization universities of the Higher Education Council with a joint project between our University and Giresun University. I believe that each of our esteemed academicians in our Faculty of Agriculture will add new ones to the important scientific studies and projects they carry out to increase the quality and yield in hazelnuts. I would like to state that, as Ordu University, we will give all the support we can. With these thoughts, I would like to thank our friends who contributed to the organization of this panel and wish the panel to be beneficial for our province, region and country.”
