Collaboration between Ordu University and the Rooted Universities of Portugal

Our University and the first and only maritime university of Portugal, Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique Enautica and Naval Academy Escola Navalda signed an Erasmus + agreement. In addition, preliminary interviews were held with Lisbon University Fine Arts and Business Faculties for future collaborations.

Rector of our university Prof. Dr. Tarik Yarilgaç had a visit to Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique Enautica and the Naval Academy Escola Navalda in order to sign a cooperation protocol in the framework of Erasmus Plus Exchange Program aiming to increase the quality in higher education, to strengthen the cooperation of the higher education institutions with each other and with the business world, to increase the mobility of academic staff, to strengthen personal development of individuals, to increase employment opportunities and to develop joint scientific activities. During his visit, the faculty member of the Faculty of Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Nihat Sezer Sabahat and Fatsa Marine Sciences Faculty Erasmus Coordinator, Asst. Prof. Nihan Şenbursa accompanied to the Rector.

Cooperation with Portugal's First and Only Maritime Faculty

Rector of our university Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç and Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique Enautica University Rector Luis Filipe Baptista signed a cooperation protocol between the two universities, which was the beginning of both student and academic staff mobility.

Rector Yarılgaç talked about the rapid development of Ordu University since its establishment and provided information on the trainings, course schedules and maritime training and discussed about the possible common EU projects which could be realized in the following years between the two institutions. After the meeting, our University delegation was shown and given information about the Machine and Navigational Simulation Centers.

 

Agreement signed with Naval Academy, Escola Naval in 1823

Rector Yarılgaç, Director and Chairman of Escola Naval school, Commodore Mário José Simões Marques and the delegations of both institutions participated in a meeting to sign a Erasmus +  cooperation protocol between Escola Naval, one of the well-established universities in Portugal and our university. 

At the meeting, after Commodore Mário José Simões Marques gave information about Escola Naval, Rector of our university Prof.Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç made a presentation about the development of Ordu University. Besides, Escola Naval was asked to be ready to direct the students who want to continue in the military or coastal security area, and to exchange ideas on Horizon 2020 and the future EU projects that could be realized in the following years.

 

Preliminary Interview with the Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Lisbon

Following the signed protocols, Rector Yarılgaç and Assoc. Prof. Nihat Sezer Sabahat visited the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Fine Arts (Belas Artes ULisboa).

After having a preliminary interview for student mobility in the field of fine arts with Professor Ilidio Salteriiro, information about the physical conditions, technical infrastructure and student studies of the faculty were examined in the faculty building and it was reached a consensus about the fact that an Erasmus agreement for student mobility was agreed to be signed in a short period of time.

Vice Dean of ISEG Jose Manuel Verissimo briefed the school on international accreditations and international agreements during the visit to University of Lisbon School of Business Administration (ISEG) and stated that they are open to cooperate with Ordu University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in English departments. Afterwards, the classrooms, library and conference rooms of the faculty were examined.

The Rector Prof. Dr. Tarık Yarılgaç, raising the recognition of Ordu University in a global scale with multidimensional and systematic partnerships, “As a world citizen university, our university, which acts with the principle of making both the scientific infrastructure and the universalization and social utilization of information through the international agreements it has established important cooperation and conducted negotiations. since the day it was founded. While the recognition of the works carried out in the field of maritime, art and business sciences in the field of universality will increase,  Ordu University will take on the mission as the  information and cultural ambassador with mutual student and staff mobility through these agreements.In this context, I hope that the agreement signed and the interviews carried out will be beneficial to our University and I would like to thank the universities of Portugal, which hosted us.”
