2019-2020 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held in the Presidential Complex

The Opening Ceremony of the 2019-2020 Academic Year was held at the Presidential Complex under the auspices of the Council of Higher Education with the honors of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. 
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan talked about developments and innovations in education and training in the last 17 years. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, “Education and training is one of the areas where we show the most sensitivity when changing the management system of our country. The Education and Training Policy Board that we established within the Presidency is an expression of this understanding. According to the developments in the world, the needs of our country and the demands of our nation, a gradual change is necessary in all stages of education from pre-school to university. The important thing is to make this change with the participation, contribution and decision of all parties. We cannot focus on other issues correctly without seeing and accepting the distance Turkey has made in the field of education. Therefore, the issue of education and training will continue to be among the top priorities in the coming period.
Following the opening speeches, YÖK 2019 Excellence Awards were given by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to academicians and universities that were awarded.
