Ordu University has actualised the opening ceremony of the academic year 2018-2019

The Mayor  of Ordu province ; Engin Tekintaş, the prosecutor of Ordu ; Mehmet Akif Aktaş, the president of the justice commission ; Dr Mesut Bilen, the Rector of Ordu University ; Prof Dr Tarık Yarılgaç , the vice-governor of Ordu ; Turgut Subaşı, the police commissioner of Ordu ; Mehmet Erdoğan, the Vice-Rector ; Prof Dr Tevfik Noyan , the Secretary-General of ODU ; Associate Prof Dr ; Kenan Şahin, the Deans of the faculties, the Director of Ordu National Education ; Kutlu Tekin Baş and some other directors in Ordu, the students and the academicians took part in the ceremony.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Rector Prof Dr Tarık Yarılgaç made a speech and introduced a presentation about the developing process of Ordu University. The Rector said '' Starting of education and training activity with the number of 4000 students thirteen years ago, Ordu University has reached the size of 3 institutions, 12 faculties, 2 colleges and 10 VET schools and 737 lecturers, 377 administrative staff, 317 workers and 12 contracted personnel and also over 23.000 undergraduate and graduate students.

When we pay attention to advancement process of ODU in the light of statistical data, we happily announce that Ordu University has realised a growth of 2.8 fold in undergraduate and 5 fold in graduate education and 105 fold in master education and  in total number ; the students in 4.6 fold inrespect of programme numbers ; 2.6 with undergradute  and 5.1 fold with graduate, 15 fold with master programme, 11 fold in doctorate education and total numbers ; 4.1 fold. Besides, Ordu University has performed 8.7 fold with the number of assistant professors and 7.4 fold with the number of lecturers and 8.6 fold with the number of administrative staff and 10 fold of total personnel number.''

The Rector Yarılgaç added '' Ordu University has offered a variety of working atmosphere to all researchers and conducted education and training activities with modern equipment at the national and international level. '' The Rector maintained his speech saying that Ordu University has been in training process since the establisment and the number of lab has already risen up to 140, which was 10 at the beginning.

At the opening ceremony of Academic Year 2018-2019, the Deputy Governor of Ordu Province , Turgut Subaşı made a speech and said '' Ordu University is the pride of Ordu and pioneer of education and I would like to thank all the academic staff and wish all the best in the new academic year.''

After the protocol speeches, the faculty of music and performing arts performed a concert and the plaques were delivered to the first winners of the faculties. The programme ended with wearing ceremony of academic gown.
