The signed protocol covers the field arrangement of the Ünye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences building by ÜNKED on the land allocated to our University and its turnkey transfer to our University free of charge. In addition, the Faculty building, which will have a closed area of 15 thousand square meters with the project, will have at least 11 classrooms, 9 lecture halls, 2 computer laboratories, 18 administrative rooms, 3 seminar halls, 2 dining halls, 1 canteen and 1 conference hall.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan stated in his speech after the protocol, “We signed a protocol with the Ünye Culture, Education and Solidarity Association for the construction of a modern building that will meet all the needs of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, on a 165-decare area in Ünye allocated to our University by our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. In the following days, we will have a groundbreaking ceremony with the participation of our precious elder Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş. In our Faculty building, which will have a closed area of 15 thousand square meters, there will be all places from the offices of the lecturers to the classrooms and lecture halls, from the administrative rooms to the dining hall and seminar halls. We are working with all our efforts to make our university beneficial to our Ordu with all its education units. With these thoughts, I would like to thank Ünye Mayor Hüseyin Tavlı, Ünye Culture Education and Solidarity Association President Reşit Erol and everyone who contributed, and I wish this protocol that we signed will be beneficial.”
Reşit Erol, President of Unye Culture, Education and Solidarity Association stated, “After long struggles, we have reached the final stage regarding the University campus area. Starting tomorrow, we will start our excavation and upgrade the Unye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences building as soon as possible. We undertook this job as an association, but we embraced this job as Ünye. We would like to thank our Rector, Ünye Mayor and those who contributed to this issue.
Ünye Mayor Huseyin Tavlı added, “We are happy to witness a moment that has been struggling for a long time for Ünye and at the same time we believe that we are at the beginning of its outcome. I am one of your brothers who knows how precious the point reached is, as I have personally witnessed the struggle for the creation of a second campus of Ordu University in Ünye for about 16-17 years, alongside our President of ÜNKED. We, as the local government, hope that a faculty building that falls on us at the point of acquiring a campus will be completed with the participation of Honorable Deputy Chairman Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş while laying the foundation. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our Rector.”
