A successful operation was carried out by the Cardiology Clinic of our University Training and Research Hospital. In a sensitive and risky operation, the dysfunctional pacemaker cable was removed using special devices.

A 62-year-old male patient, who had a pacemaker implanted on the left side of his chest seven years ago, applied to the Cardiology Clinic of Ordu University Training and Research Hospital due to the rupture of the pacemaker cable and swelling in the pacemaker area. Broken pacemaker cable and pacemaker attached to the heart wall were removed with the help of a special battery cable removal device without the need for open surgery.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yenerçag and Dr. Faculty Member Fatih Akkaya and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Cardiology faculty members Prof. Dr. Kudret Aytemir and Prof. Dr. Hikmet Yorgun carried out the operation.
