A "Yunus Emre Memorial Concert" was held by the Turkish Music Ensemble, consisting of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at our university.

The Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tahsin Tonkaz, Faculty Deans, academicians, students and guests attended the program which was held at the Morphology Building Conference Hall.

The works whose lyrics belong to Yunus Emre were performed by Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Turkish Music Ensemble in the concert: “Bir Kararda Durmayalım, Şol Cennetin Irmakları, Aşkın Aldı Beni, Ben Yürürüm Yane Yane, Ah Bir Mekanım Bu Cihanda, Bir Garipsin Şu Dünyada, Dağlar ile Taşlar ile Çağırayım Mevlam Seni, Ah Nice Bir Uyursun Uyanmaz mısın, Benim Adım Dertli Dolap, Gelin Ey Aşıklar Gelin, Dünya Umuruna Meylini Verme, Yar Yüreğim Yar, Bilmem Nideyim Aşkın Elinden”.

Speaking after the concert, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan stated “Faculty of Music and Performing Arts faculty and students are doing valuable work.
Prof. Dr. Sabri Yener is also an asset of Ordu, does his job very well, and is an asset of our University, too. Universities are places where things that should be in all areas of life are taught in the field of health sciences, natural sciences and social sciences. While doing these, we also continue our social, sportive and artistic activities. I would like to thank the Turkish Music Ensemble of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts for making us experience this beautiful evening with these thoughts.”

Dean of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Prof. Dr. Sabri Yener stated “Understanding art is as difficult as making art. Understanding an artist is more difficult than being an artist. On behalf of our community, I would like to thank our Honorable Rector for his kindness and for his nice words about me and our Faculty.”

Program ended after Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan presented flowers to Prof. Dr. Sabri Yener and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. with Tahsin Tonkaz presented flowers to the students in the community and souvenir photo was taken.
