Help from Our University to the Earthquake Zone

Aid vehicles carrying the aid materials prepared from our university to be delivered to the earthquake area set out for Adıyaman.

Our university's academic and administrative staff also contributed to the in-kind aid campaign launched across the country after the earthquakes that took place in Kahramanmaraş and affected 10 provinces. Many in-kind aids such as water, food, clothes, shoes, carpets, blankets, quilts, tents, heaters, baby diapers and hygiene materials collected under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports were packed and loaded onto a truck and a lorry, and then sent off to Adıyaman with prayers. AFAD Coordination Center officials in Adıyaman will receive the aid materials set out from our university.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan stated in his speech, “First of all, I would like to express my condolences to our nation, may God not show us such painful days again. We wish God's mercy on our citizens who died in the earthquake area, and a quick recovery to our injured sisters and brothers. We hope all under the rubble will be rescued as soon as possible. We have seen once again that the state of the Republic of Turkey is trying to make up for this painful event together and to heal the wounds in unity, solidarity and brotherhood as one heart. We, as Ordu University, in cooperation with the Governorship of Ordu and AFAD, provided and loaded many aid materials such as food supplies, blankets, quilts, diapers, heaters, and hygiene materials, together with our academic and administrative staff and students at our university. I would like to thank the staff of our university for their help, may Allah be pleased with them. These aids will continue, and we are ready to provide all kinds of financial and moral assistance to our earthquake victims.”
