At the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year, an orientation program was organized to contribute to the adaptation process of the newly registered students to university life and to create a sense of belonging.
Within the scope of the orientation program that continued for 5 days,  information about social, cultural and sports activities, nutrition and diet services, psychological counselling services and student clubs by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports; about course passing, horizontal and vertical transfer, grading system, fees, student automation system, student mobile application by the Registrar's Office, about the library collection, catalogue scanning and lending services by the Library and Documentation Department officials was conveyed. In addition, detailed information was given to the students by the Distance Education Center.
During the program, with the support of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, a cruise was held on the Martyr Temel Şimşir Ship for newly arrived students. Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan, Vice-rectors Prof. Dr. Niyazi Tasci and Prof. Dr. Tahsin Tonkaz, Faculty Deans, Vocational School Managers, and students from different campuses and departments, and also AK Party Ordu Deputy Dr. Şenel Yediyıldız attended the second day of the program.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan stated in his speech, “We organized an orientation program to contribute to the adaptation process of our new students to university life and our city. In this context, we came together with our students in order to get to know the beauties of our city and to experience the satisfaction of coming to our University in the ship tour event we organized. We want every student who comes here to receive a quality education and make them happy. I would like to thank Hilmi Güler, our Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, for his support in the organization of this program, the staff of our University and everyone who contributed. And I wish good luck to our university and our city in the new academic year.”
