Rector Akdoğan made examinations at Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences Simulation Training Center

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan made examinations at the simulator training center, which was donated to Ordu University Fatsa Marine Sciences Faculty by the IMEAK Chamber of Shipping.

During the visit, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Niyazi Taşçı and Prof. Dr. Tahsin Tonkaz and his team accompanied the Rector. Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Özkan Uğurlu stated that in the simulation center, which has world-class equipment and infrastructure, seafarers working in the maritime sector, as well as students, have the opportunity to personally practice and experience their theoretical knowledge. He added that there are 4 simulators serving different purposes in the training center, namely a fully equipped bridge simulator, ECDIS-RADAR simulator, liquid cargo handling simulator and GMDSS (communication) simulator, and that students receive professional training.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan stated, “The physical structure of our Simulation Center was made by our University, and the technical equipment was provided by the Istanbul Chamber of Shipping. It has become a world-class training center. Here, our students will be able to take a tour as if they were inside the ship, control the movements of the ship from here and walk the ship in a virtual environment at sea. When they get on the real ship, they will have already become experts in this field without any strangeness. Therefore, our graduates have the opportunity to find a job very easily both in Turkey and abroad. I would like to thank Tamer Kıran, the President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, who helped bring the Simulation Center to our University, and everyone who contributed."
