Our university, Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences, was accepted to the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and took its place among the 71 leading maritime universities in the world.

In order to evaluate the IAMU membership application made by Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences, examinations were made by the IAMU representative between 11-12 January 2023. Based on the report prepared after the examinations, the membership application was accepted at the International Executive Board meeting held in Rauma, Finland. Thus, our University's Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences took its place among the world's leading 71 maritime universities, which are members of IAMU.

IAMU members include 71 maritime universities from 37 countries, including the World Maritime University in Sweden, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in the USA, Kobe University in Japan, and Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. Member maritime universities in Turkey include Dokuz Eylül University, Istanbul Technical University, Karadeniz Technical University, Piri Reis University and Yıldız Technical University, in addition to our University.
