"8 March International Women's Day" Program Was Held at Our University

The program held at Ceren Özdemir Conference Hall was attended by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Celal Tezcan, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, President of the Ordu Bar Association, Atty. Sibel Torun, Faculty Deans, representatives of institutions and organizations, academic and administrative staff, students and guests attended.

Making the opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan said, “I attach great importance to 8 March International Women's Day in terms of raising awareness and raising awareness. However, I think that it is not enough to fit our women in just one day. We must do whatever we can to protect the individual rights and freedoms of our women. In fact, there is no such thing as a distinction between men and women, we are two parts of a whole, ultimately we are all human. Polarizing men and women is the greatest evil done to both sexes. Our national and spiritual realities consider it an order to give women the rights they have. If women's rights are violated, if women are persecuted, if women are marginalized, it is our duty to defend them as a society and as human beings. I congratulate March 8, International Women's Day, with the hope that this important day will raise awareness and consciousness”.

After the opening speeches, the panel of “March 8 International Women's Day” moderated by Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Nülüfer Erbil started. Panelists; Faculty of Arts and Sciences Prof. Dr. Beyhan Taş “Successful Women in Science”, Faculty of Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şermin Tağ Kalafatoğlu “The Image of Successful Women in the Media”, Faculty of Health Sciences, Assist. Prof. Dr.  Aslıhan Catiker made their presentation on "Successful Women's Stories in the Field of Health".

The program ended with a question and answer session.
