Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan's Celebration Message on "23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day"

The Turkish Grand National Assembly, which was opened on April 23, 1920, is one of the most important steps taken by our nation with determination and determination, even in the most difficult times, and is the seal of our national unity and solidarity. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stated, “Sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation.”, and laid the foundations that no power other than the national will be recognized. At the same time, by gifting this special day to our children, who are the future of our nation, he perpetuated the value he gave them.

April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day is important in terms of keeping national sovereignty alive in young memories, sharing peace and brotherhood among the peoples of the world, and thus serving world peace. As educational institutions, our duty is to be instrumental in our country's progress in the future with more confident steps by raising productive and qualified generations who love their homeland, nation and freedom, who are loyal to their national and spiritual values.

With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate all the heroes of the independence struggle, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, with mercy and gratitude, embrace our children, who are the guarantee of our future, with love, and I congratulate the 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day with my sincere feelings.
