The opening ceremony of the Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Room and Intensive Care Unit of the MoH-Ordu University Training and Research Hospital was held.

Ordu Governor Tuncay Sonel, Ordu Deputy Dr. Şenel Yediyıldız, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. M.Hilmi Güler, Rector Prof.Dr.Ali Akdoğan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Niyazi Taşçı, Health Provincial Director Dr. Mustafa Kasapoğlu, representatives of public institutions and organizations and guests attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech at the opening, Ordu Governor Tuncay Sonel said, “Good works are being done in health, especially in education, with state-citizen cooperation. I would like to express my gratitude to all our fellow citizens from Ordu who contributed to the construction of this operating room. In addition, we thank our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and our Minister of Health, Dr. Fahrettin Koca on behalf of your local people.” 

AK Party Ordu Deputy Dr. Şenel Yediyıldız said, “With the support of our Governor, and the efforts of our Rector, we opened the cardiovascular surgery center here today, an operating room with the latest technology. Hopefully, from now on, we have a claim that we can easily perform open heart surgery on our patients in Ordu both in our State Hospital and in our Training and Research Hospital, and not to send patients abroad. Hopefully, we will be successful in this claim.” 

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said, “We have very valuable physicians, operators, and a modern operating room equipped with the latest innovations. In this respect, there is no need to go out of the province anymore. It is a very satisfying service for us. Thank you everyone.” 

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan said, “As Ordu University, we want all medical treatments of a sick citizen to be done in Ordu to reduce the dependency on the surrounding provinces. With the Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Room and the Intensive Care Unit, which we opened, our compatriots started to receive this health service in their own provinces and as of today, 31 surgeries have been performed. It is our primary goal that none of our patients experience any grievances in the field of health. In this context, we act in cooperation with the other stakeholders of our city, especially our Ordu Governorship, to solve the problems of our city in unity and solidarity. I would like to thank our esteemed Governor Tuncay Sonel, who supported us, and everyone who contributed." 

Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of our University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaptanıderya Tayfur gave detailed information to the guests about the 3rd Stage Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Room and Intensive Care Unit and said, “Currently, we have 5 intensive care beds and one state-of-the-art operating room in our newly opened Cardiovascular Surgery unit. It is capable of performing two open heart surgeries every day. Apart from this, all kinds of vascular surgeries are also performed in our operating room. Apart from this, we also have a 13-bed service. We follow the patients who are discharged from the intensive care unit with healing in our service and then discharge them. This operating room is a unit in Ordu, perhaps equipped with the latest system and equipment in the region, without any shortcomings. We would like to thank everyone who brought the unit to our city and contributed to it. We have opened the 3rd Step Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Room and Intensive Care with the support of our esteemed elders. As a physician who has been serving in Ordu for years, we are very happy. From this time on, patients will not need to go to any city from Ordu for heart surgery. We are ready to perform all kinds of surgeries with our technical equipment, devices and team. From now on, we will continue to serve Ordu together.” 

After the speeches, the opening ribbon of the Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Room and the Intensive Care Unit was cut.
