“13 May National Landscape Architecture Day” event was held at our university.

The event program held at the Faculty of Agriculture Şahin Dere Conference Hall was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdogan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tahsin Tonkaz, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Fikret Balta, academic and administrative staff, students and guests attended.

Making the opening speech of the program, Head of Landscape Architecture Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Yeşil celebrated the National Landscape Architecture Day by giving information to the audience on many subjects such as the importance of the profession of landscape architecture, the courses given in the department, and the academic and physical structure of the department.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Fikret Balta said, “Our National Landscape Architecture Day activities will be two days, today and tomorrow. In this context, important works done by our teachers and students so far will be presented with their visuals. I would like to thank our Rector for his contributions to the Faculty of Agriculture and congratulate the National Landscape Architecture Day.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan emphasized the importance of the landscape architecture profession and drew attention to the right urbanization. Rector Akdoğan said, “Serving people in any field, in any place and under any circumstances is the most important activity of life. All beings in the universe serve man. Therefore, as human beings, we must do our best to use these assets in their proper place. An investment that is not made for people and does not serve people is far from meaning. Landscape architecture shows itself as an important profession in the contemporary world where urbanization and coexistence are increasing. Our University's Landscape Architecture Department also carries out important studies with its academic staff and students who are experts in their fields. As the Rectorate, we are ready to do our best for the Faculty of Agriculture, the Department of Landscape Architecture and other departments. With these thoughts, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of the event and congratulate the National Landscape Architecture Day.” 

After the opening speeches, a video showing of the department presentation and student projects was made. After the program continued with presentations, the exhibition prepared by the department students within the scope of different design and planning courses was visited.
