History
Our faculty was founded under the decision of Cabinet in April 25, 2009. In October 1, 2009, Departments of Music, Performing Arts, Painting, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Ceramic and Glass, Traditional Turkish Handicrafts, Photography, Fashion Design, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design were founded. The Department of Motion Pictures and Television was founded later and it is the only one in the universities of the same region.
On January 1, 2013 Faculty of Music and Performing Arts was founded under the law no. 2012/3449.
With the foundation of the new faculty, the Department of Music and its branches (Music, Composition, Piano-Harp-Guitar, Strings, Musicology) and the Department of Performing Arts and its branches (Drama, Opera, Ballet) were closed under the law no. 2880 in December 20, 2012 and transferred into the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.

Our Mission
To be a strong institution which becomes a model by producing an idea for art to shape and gain an identity through education studies, research and art activities; which raises artists, lecturers and academicians who are accepted on national and international levels in the fields of visual arts, plastic arts, motion pictures, photography, interior architecture and environmental design; which produces realistic, contemporary and applicable solutions to the artistic problems of our country and of the world.
