History
Ordu University was founded on May 18, 2007 under the law no. 5467 of Cabinet. Our university includes Faculty of Ünye Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Fatsa Marine Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Health, and School of Mesudiye Vocational Education, which all belonged to Ondokuz Mayis University before; and it also includes Faculty of Agriculture and School of Vocational Education, which both belonged to Black Sea Technical University before. Besides, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Science, Institute of Social Sciences and Institute of Medical Sciences were included some time later into our university. There is Postgraduate education in nine departments and Doctorate education in three departments belonging to our institutes.
Our Mission
To contribute to the universal science and technology in postgraduate education by providing interdisciplinary communication, to prepare research and development environment, to produce contemporary projects and to raise competent, intellectual, productive and creative scientists and experts who can work efficiently in these projects.
Our Vision
To become a nationally and internationally favored institution which provides education in the science and engineering departments and which raises well-equipped, productive (in science and technology) creative, contemporary and qualified (for the society) experts and researchers.
