Undergraduate Programs
An academic advisor to every registered student is assigned by the related Faculty or vocational school administration. The academic advisor helps, leads and monitors the student during his/her period of study. The courses that the student will take each semester and any changes in the student’s program is approved by the academic advisor taking into consideration his/her academic development.In the framework of Erasmus Program, all faculties/departments and schools have an attended Erasmus-ECTS academic coordinator who is the contact person for the incoming and outgoing students on all academic matters.
Postgraduate Programs
In the postgraduate program, the executive board of the institute assigns an advisor for each student at the beginning of first semester. The advisor is chosen among the professors, associate professors and assistant professors in the department for each student enrolled in postgraduate programs. The advisor strives to guide the students and assists them in solving problems related to their educational process. The responsibility of the academic advisor is to help the student to select their courses, to follow their attendance to these courses, to manage their thesis, to engage with their social, cultural or other kinds of problems, to warn when necessary, to send a report to the related head of the department about the success level of the student.
Doctorate Programs
The executive board of the institute assigns an advisor for each student at the beginning of first semester. In cases where the thesis study requires more than one advisor, the department may assign a second advisor upon the recommendation of the academic board and the decision of the executive board of the respective institute. The thesis advisor is chosen among the academic members. The advisor strives to guide the students and assists them in solving problems related to their educational process. The responsibility of the academic advisor is to help the student to select their courses, to follow their attendance to these courses, to manage their thesis, to engage with their social, cultural or other kinds of problems, to warn when necessary, to send a report about the success level of the student to the directorate of the institute approved by the related head of the department. The thesis advisor can establish a lecture on specialized field from the date he / she is appointed by the executive board of the institute in every semester and in the summer period. The specialized field lecture is not integrated to the students’ credits. Each student is responsible to take the specialized field lecture. The procedures and principles are assigned by the Senate and applied by the the executive board of the institute.
